William W. Woodside

William Walter Woodside, 82, of New Alexandria, died Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born in Germantown, PA, son of the late William H. and Virginia Mildred (Anderson) Woodside. Prior to retirement William worked at the Volkswagen plant in New Stanton. William was a US Marine Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Community United Presbyterian Church, New Alexandria, New Alexandria Lions Club for 25 years, Derry Rod and Gun Club, Twin Maples Hunt Club, Derry, Blairsville VFW Post 5821, and a founding member of the F & J Bow and Gun Club, Derry. William volunteered at the Bushy Run Battlefield. He loved hunting, quad riding and history. William is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Carol Elaine Woodside of New Alexandria; two children Wayne W. Woodside and wife Jessica od Derry and Karen D. Hilty and husband Rick of Latrobe; three brothers Terry, John and wife Connie, and Dennis Woodside; four grandchildren Amanda D. and Shelby R. Woodside. Kristen N. and Ricky A. Hilty; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date The P.
