William Hudson Obituary

William S. Hudson New Alexandria William S. "Bill" Hudson, 74, of New Alexandria, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. He was born April 3, 1943, in Greensburg, son of Glenn Anderson and Mary L. McChesney. Bill was retired from Torrance State Hospital, where he worked as a boiler room operator. He grew up farming and enjoyed life on the farm. He also loved his garden, taking pride in his large garden. Many of the vegetables were given away to his many friends. He was proud of his antique Allis Chalmers WD40 and giving rides to his grandchildren, with whom he loved to spend time with. He rarely missed his grandchildren's events and activities. He was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church of Youngstown, Pa. He belonged to the Fort Allen Antique Tractor Association and also the Old Timers Club. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Emmy, in 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sandra L. Pickels Hudson, of New Alexandria; three daughters, Wendy Smith and husband, John W., of Union City, Indiana, Tammy Crouthamel and husband, Rob, of Mars, Pa., and Kathy Deuel and husband, Craig, of Unity Township; grandchildren, Katie, Brittany, Cassandra, Zach, Noah, Jonathan and Gunner; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Lily; a brother, Charles, and sisters, Nancy and Barbara. There are numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the P. David Newhouse Funeral Home of New Alexandria, with Pastor Sarah Rossing, officiating. Burial will be at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Youngstown. www.newhousefuneralhome.com.
