Warren Richard Smith Jr.

Warren Richard Smith Jr., 77, of Export, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at UPMC East. He was born Feb. 8, 1946, in Braddock, to the late Dorothy (Smith) Smith. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Warren was a retired supervisor for Old Dominion, a member of the Pittsburgh Korean Assembly of God and a proud husband, father and grandfather. He was a volunteer instructor for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 35 years, an instructor for the American Red Cross in CPR and first aid for 20 years and a life member for the NRA, where he spent 30 years as volunteer firearms instructor. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael C. Smith. Warren is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kang Sun Yi (Kang) Smith; two children, Mark Smith, of Saltsburg, and Matt Smith, of Butler; and a sister, Barbara, of Connecticut. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, PA 15670, 724-668-2248, where a funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023.
