Violet Weimer Obituary

Violet Marie Weimer, 89, of New Alexandria, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital , Greensburg . Born July 2, 1921, in Pitcairn, she was the daughter of the late Flora and John Franklin Emeigh. She was a member of New Alexandria United Methodist Church . Violet worked for Federal Labs for 10 years on the assembly line. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life. One of her favorite pastimes was going to polka dances. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William H. Weimer, in 1988; two sons, Edward and Thomas; and a daughter, Elizabeth. She is survived by her children, Bill Weimer, Gene Weimer, Nancy Liebel, Darlene Arthur, Sue Jones and Roger Weimer; many grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Jenny Spade. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, in New Alexandria. Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday in the chapel in Union Cemetery , New Alexandria, with the Rev. Linda D. Landers officiating.
