Obituary

Our Dear Mother, Violet Genevieve (Olinzock) Vecchio, age 90, of New Alexandria, formerly of Trafford passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in her home.  Violet was born on September 21, 1932, in Star Junction the daughter of the late Anthony Olinzock (Antoni J. Olejniczak) and Mary Larence Tomkovicz.   She was a former member of the St. Regis Church in Trafford and a current member of the St. James Church in New Alexandria.  In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvatore Vecchio in 2018 and her siblings, Joseph Tomkovicz and Elizabeth Henderson.  Violet is survived by her three children, who will forever hold her memory dear to their hearts, Anthony (Deborah) Vecchio of Aiken, SC, Samuel (Joyce) Vecchio of Level Green and Anna Marie (John) Morris of New Alexandria; her nine grandchildren, who were all so special to her, Claire Con (Carlos) and Haley Vecchio, Matthew (Michelle) Vecchio, Samuel and Christina Vecchio, Daniel Morris, Emily (Enrrique) Aragon, Samuel (Miranda) Morris and Kate Morris; her adoring ten great-grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face, Stella and Mize Con, Sophia and Caleb Vecchio and Genevieve, Emmeline, Hannie and Josiah Aragon and Greyson and Aubree Morris; her dear sisters, Helen Palchak and Mary Ann Jenkins of Trafford and Joan Lawrence of Murrysville; her dear sisters-in-law, Jean Tomkovicz of Delmont, Betty Chesky of Jeannette and Geraldine and Evelyn Vecchio of Trafford, and her dear friend, Wanda Czapor.  Violet will be remembered for the meticulous care of her home, her love of decorating for all holidays and seasons, always sending cards to her family and friends, all the delicious cookies she baked for holidays and events and the pizza bread and gobs enjoyed by her grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing cards with her husband and grandchildren even when she was told by her husband “Vee, you threw the wrong card”.  Most of all she is remembered as a prayerful woman.  Praying for her family daily.   "Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise" Luke 23:43.  Special thanks to the “Angels” from Promedica, Stephanie Davis, Gloria Miller and Shari Taylor who were so gentle and kind.  Our other “Angel” Erin Kaufman, who gave of her time to help us out. Per her wishes, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends will be received at a funeral Mass Tuesday October 4th at 10AM in the St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria 15670 with Rev. Tyler J. Bandura as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  All friends and family are invited to a reception at the church following interment. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations can be made to the St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria PA 15670, or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  P.
