Thomas Logan Shirey II

Thomas Logan Shirey II, 71, of New Alexandria, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital . He was born Aug. 29, 1939, in Johnstown , a son of the late Frederic Shirey and Irene Hendrickson. Tom retired from Wise Snacks, where he was a route driver. He was a member of the Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria . He was also a former fireman with the New Alexandria VFD No. 77 and a former coach of the New Alexandria Little League. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Peggy Nesbit Shirey, of New Alexandria; three children, Suzanne Shirey, of New Alexandria, Brenda Sheffler and her husband, Mark, of New Alexandria, and Thomas III and his wife, Carla, of Homer City; grandchildren, Trisha, Brandon, Kristen and Kelsie; a sister, Martha Fedornok and her husband, Pete, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. www.newhousefuneralhome.com. Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
