Thomas Richard Duffey

Thomas Richard Duffey, 78, of New Alexandria, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 17, 1945, to the late Charles R. and Cecelia L. (Nolan) Duffey. A Christian by faith, he attended the United Methodist Church. Tom was a graduate of Blairsville High School Class of 1963, where he was voted "Class Clown". He also graduated from the California State Teachers College. Tom was a retired Math Teacher for the Greater Latrobe School District with 30 years of service. He also served for many years as the manager of the GLSFCU. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Barry; an infant sister, Sally; a brother, Larry Duffey; and a sister-in-law, Nancy (Lipsie) Duffey. Tom is survived by his friend and former wife, Sue (Freeman) Duffey; his son, David Patrick Duffey and his wife Kathleen Marie (Fuhrer) Duffey; six grandchildren, Riley, Alexis, Deanna, Kristin, Jordan, and Logan; a brother, Charles R. Duffey Jr. and his wife, Shirley (Metz) Duffey; three nephews, Barry, Michael, and Joey; a niece, Tracey, and their families. As per his wishes, there will be no public visitations or service. Entombment will be in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Tom's favorite book in the bible was Proverbs. So, it is fitting to end with Proverbs 8:35 "For those who find me find life…" P.
