Terri Selembo Obituary

Terri A. Mickolay Selembo Age 60 of New Alexandria passed peacefully in her home Friday January 18, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Philip A. Mickolay Sr and the late Cathryn Samella Mickolay. She is survived by her adoring wife Lori Cramer, sons Kirk and Corey Selembo, brother Philip Mickolay and his wife Vickie , Nephew Drew Mickolay , his wife Kelsey and their children Harlan and Braden and Neice Emily Appel , her husband Jesse. She also leaves behind an Aunt Mary Samella Davis, Uncle George Samella and numerous cousins. Terri was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Latrobe. Terri was retired from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives where she worked 14 years as a Legislative Assistant for Representative Joseph A. Petrarca in his Latrobe office. Representative Petrarca describes Terri as "a loving person and a very good friend to him and his family. In her 14 years employment she helped tens of thousands of people with all kinds of difficult situations. She did this with heart, a smile and determination and will be missed by many." Prior to employment with the House of Representatives, she worked 3 years for the Derry Area School District. From 1977-1988 she was employed at the Westmoreland County Court house. Terri enjoyed golfing camping and fishing. Terri and her wife Lori took 2 ½ month cross country trip this past summer and visited 21 National Parks and 2 National Monuments. She was an avid cyclist and has done several long distance rides to include: Pittsburgh to Washington DC, twice, West Virginia to Presque Isle, Erie and several Century rides. Terri played for the Latrobe Woman's Softball Rec League from 1975- 1986. In 1985 she played for Thomas Remodeling who went 21-0 for a championship season. Terri has maintained countless long term friendships throughout her life. Those friends are too numerous to mention. Many identify themselves as her "best friend". This is a testament to who Terri was, as she treated everyone with the same love, respect and attention. Terri lived life to the fullest and loved life to her fullest. In the past five years her courage, strength and faith have been such an inspiration to countless people. Friends will be received from 5:00 PM- 9 PM Monday January 21, and 1:00 PM to 9:00PM Tuesday January 22 and Wednesday January 23 at 9:00 am at the P. David Newhouse Funeral Home, corner of Church and Washington Streets, Rev. Seigfried will conduct Services at the Christ United Church of Christ located at 1414 Ligonier Street Latrobe, PA on Wednesday January 23 at 11:00 AM. Internment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Crabtree, PA. In Lieu of flowers family is requesting a donation be made to Christ United Church of Christ
