Stephen R. Hornock, 84, of New Alexandria, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born in Salem Township, son of George Hornock and Anna Balik. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Mike; and a sister, Mary Pacienza. He is survived by his wife, Joan; and a son, Joseph Hornock; two daughters, Sue Watt and husband, Jim, and Sally Watt and husband, Jerry, all of New Alexandria; grandchildren, Holly Shafer and Dustin, Rebecca, Stephen, Jeff and Jesse; brothers, George, John (Peggy) and James; and sister, Anna Marie Suman (Jerry). He retired from Kennametal. Steve was a member of St. James Church, New Alexandria. He was a member of the Army during the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington Sts., New Alexandria. www.newhousefuneralhome.com. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, in St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria with Monsignor Larry J. Kulick J.C.L. Pastor of St. James Church as Celebrant. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, New Alexandria. Military honors will be accorded by the Blairsville Military Service Group. The family would like to thank the firemen, EMT's and the hospital for their loving care of Steve.
