Shirley M. (Ball) Steele

Shirley M. (Ball) Steele, 85, of New Alexandria, died Thursday, December 17, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 15, 1935, in New Alexandria, the daughter of the late George R. and Elizabeth (Hudson) Ball. Prior to retirement Shirley worked at Bell Telephone, Jim Hudson's Store, HMS Industries, and as a homemaker. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and the NAFD Auxiliary for 51 years. Shirley's hobbies were mowing grass, cooking, planting flowers, gambling, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Shirley lived on her farm with her husband Jack for 64 years. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband John G. "Jack" Steele in 2019. Shirley is survived by her two sons, Rick and Ron Steele; two daughters, Karen Leitza and husband Dave, and Tracy Bonifazi and husband, Bruno, all of New Alexandria; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Services for Shirley will be private due to the Covid-19 restrictions. The arrangements are be handed by the P.
