Sandra J. Weaver

Sandra J. (McDonald) Weaver, 68, of New Alexandria, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born April 6, 1949, in Greensburg, to Hugh C. and Margaret Ann Miller McDonald Sr. Sandra retired from Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. Along with her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Weaver, in 2014; a son, Nicholas P. Weaver, in 1985; a brother, John Allen McDonald; and two sisters, Mary Ann Carr and Kathleen Garlow. She is survived by her children, Tammy J. Garland and Bill, of Pleasant Unity, William J. Smith, of Jeannette and Douglas E. Smith and wife Stacey, of Apollo; grandchildren, Heather M. Sundin, Adam N. Czerpak, Minna M. Barton and Cody J. Shaffer; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean E. Beatty and husband Dennis; a brother, Hugh 'Sluggo' McDonald; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Pebble. Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, newhousefuneralhome.com. A service will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Almon Birt, pastor of the Covenant of Care Ministries of Greensburg officiating. Interment will take place in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
