Ruth Watt

Ruth (Kelly) Watt, 99, of New Alexandria departed this life to be received into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born September 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Flora Mae Kelly. Ruth was a member of the New Alexandria United Methodist Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Latrobe Area Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and actively participating in church activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, John T. of Latrobe, and Bob E. of New Alexandria, four brothers, three sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Lynn. Ruth is survived by a son, James A. and wife Judy of New Alexandria; a daughter, Pat J. Stewart and husband, Wayne, of Greensburg and a sister, Betty Kelly of Hempfield. She was the grandmother of 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday March 20, 2018, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, newhousefuneralhome.com. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday March 21, 2018, at the New Alexandria United Methodist Church with Pastor Beth Meier officiating. The family would like to give special thanks to Roger Watt, Mary Ann Watt, and Sue Robinson for their outpouring of love, care, and visits that were so special to Ruth. Also, a special thank you to the hospice nurses and the staff of Excela Health Latrobe for their dedication, support, and care.
