Ruth Iona Stitt

Ruth I. Stitt born January 19, 1917 in Lexington, Ohio to Clinton W. and Myra A. (Danison) Randolph. Moved to Lancaster, Ohio at age 2. She was a 1934 graduate of Lancaster High School and attended business school in Columbus.. She wintered in St. Petersburg FL with her Uncle George and while working as a hostess in the Princess Martha Hotel she was introduced to her future husband, William Dalby Stitt who was in the Army Air Corps. July 1943 they were married in Highland Park Lutheran Churh, Pgh, PA. This union lasted until 2005 when Dad passed at the age of 88. She formerly lived in Altoona, Forest Hills and for over 20 years they wintered in Clearwater FL. They spent their summers at their cottage in Ridgeview Park in Derry, PA. She was an avid bridge player, playing duplicate games and teaching the game here and in FL. Since 2002 she has resided at Longwood of Oakmont. She is survived by her son Dr. William R. Stitt and wife Barbara, daughter Susan E. Coleman and husband David G. . Grandchildren; William R. Stitt II, Nathan A. Stitt, Sara E. Coleman and David W. Coleman and wife Meghan. Great grandchildren Shannah and Hallie.. The little girls gave her much joy in her final years. She also is survived by a sister JoAnn Blosser of Largo, FL.
