Robert E. Stevenson, 93, of New Alexandria, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born Oct. 14, 1919, in Jeannette, he was a son of the late John Henry and Eliza Harriet (Burroughs) Stevenson. Bob was a member of the Church of the Advent in Jeannette. He was the owner and operator of Stevenson's farm. He had chickens and hogs, and supplied the area with eggs. He was a member of the Westmoreland County Poultry Association. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Mayers Stevenson, in 2003; two brothers, Harry and Joe; two sisters, Sarah and Eva; and a granddaughter, Nancy Baker. Bob is survived by his daughters, Judith Baker and husband, David, of Delmont, Jennifer Dickey and husband, John, of Greensburg, and Roberta Millantz and husband, Mike, of New Alexandria; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the funeral home with the Rev. Kathleen Shirey, pastor of Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria, officiating.
