Richard G. Ruffner, 72, of Latrobe, formerly of New Alexandria, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Born April 27, 1942, in New Alexandria, he was a son of the late George H. Ruffner and Marie (Kepple) Ruffner. He was employed with Coopers Trucking Co., where he was a mechanic. Richard was a member of Community United Presbyterian Church in New Alexandria. Richard was a Vietnam War veteran having served in the Army. He is survived by a friend, Mary, of Latrobe; two children, Jill Chambers, of Greenville, and Sherri Inman, of Cranberry; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Leslie K. Ruffner, of Greensburg, and Larry H. Ruffner and wife, Jean, of Latrobe. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria, www.newhousefuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, in Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria, officiated by the Rev. Kathleen Shirey, pastor of Community United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be held in Union Cemetery, New Alexandria.
