Peggy M. Shirey

Peggy M. Shirey New Alexandria Peggy M. Shirey, 74, of New Alexandria, died Friday, May 19, 2017, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Madison to William Nesbit and Dollie Hyatt. Peggy was a housewife and homemaker. She belonged to the New Alexandria United Methodist Church. She was also a former member of the New Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Thomas Logan Shirey II, in 2011; and a sister, Betty Ridge, in 2011. Peggy is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Shirey, of New Alexandria, and Brenda Sheffler and husband Mark, of New Alexandria; a son, Thomas Shirey III, of Homer City; grandchildren, Trisha Sheffler and fiance Gabe Taylor, and Kelsie Shirey; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, with Pastor Scott Rising of the Harvest Community Church in Indiana, Pa., officiating.
