Peggy Marshall Obituary

Peggy Lee (Humes) Marshall, 64, of New Alexandria, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2015. She was a highly skilled nurse who loved her work and was devoted to her friends. She was the second daughter of the late Velma Jean Streckeisen and Roy Ovington Humes; and the sister of the late Roy Ovington Humes Jr. (Janet Daugerty). She is survived by her husband, Robert Elder Marshall, whom she married Oct. 21, 1988, in Bradenton, Fla. She is also survived by her son, Robert Elder Marshall Jr., who was the joy of her life; her sister, Kathryn Jean Humes Siembida (Philip) and their son, Brandon, of Columbiana, Ohio; her aunt, Jacquine Strekeisen, of Ellwood City; and two nieces, Suzanne Humes and Kathryn Brewer; two nephews, Brandon Siembida and John R. Babson II;, two great-nieces and three great-nephews. Peggy was born in Rochester, Pa. She graduated from Rochester High School, Beaver County Community College and Geneva College and received her degree in Nursing from Duquesne University. During her nursing career, she worked at Dixmont, Woodville, Mayview, Torrence, Latrobe, and Western Psych. She enjoyed playing golf and her summer trips to Cape Cod. Peggy a lady of elegance and was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed planning and providing baby and wedding showers and parties on her farm for her friends. Cooking and canning were favorite pastimes. There will be no visitation. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Community United Presbyterian Church, 1640 Keystone Park Road, New Alexandria, PA 15670. Arrangements provided by P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, New Alexandria. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made in Peggy's name to McGuire Memorial, 2119 Mercer Road, New Brighton, PA 15066 or to the charity of your choice.
