Paul Joseph Ruffner, 74, of Blairsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 19, 1935, in Braddock, a son of the late John Ruffner and Genevieve O'Hara Ruffner. Paul was a retired steelworker from Iron Workers Local#3 of Pittsburgh . He was a member of St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria . Paul was an usher for many years at the church. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Hazel Niedherst Ruffner, in 2004; a grandson, Ronald Kwisnek; and two brothers, Thomas Ruffner and Jack Ruffner. He is survived by three children, Paul R. Ruffner and his wife, Dianne, of Iowa, Lynn Ann Kwisnek and her husband, Ronald, of Clarksburg, and Dale R. Ruffner and his wife, Robin, of Blairsville; grandchildren, Paul, Danny, Brian, Kristi, Phillip, Allyson, Lori, Lisa, Missy, Shelly and Michael; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ruffner; a sister, Betty Oros; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James Catholic Church, New Alexandria, with Monsignor Lawrence T. Perisco as celebrant. Burial in Calvary Hill Cemetery , Unity Township.
