Olga C. (Buchinsky) Janoscrat, of New Alexandria, formerly of Moween, passed away quietly Friday, March 21, 2014, with family at her side at Excela (Latrobe) Hospital. Born June 22, 1926, she was a daughter of Victor and Helena Buchinsky, who lived in Moween. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Joseph; and infant son, also Joseph; four brothers, Stanley, Walter, John and Edward; and sister, Stefie. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Helen, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; brother, Victor, of Black Lick; daughter Theresa; and sons, John, of New Alexandria, and Michael and grandson, Brian, both of Leesburg, Va. She was always proud that all three of her surviving children retired from military service. Prior to her marriage in 1951, Olga worked at the Kiski Prep School in Saltsburg and cared for her parents and siblings. She always believed that family, religious values and education were the keys to a successful life. She loved to cook, read, watch nature and cooking shows on television and enjoyed Polka music. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, in the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in St. James Church in New Alexandria, with the Very Rev. Larry J. Kulick, J.C.L., pastor of St. James Church.
