Myla Elizabeth Shestik, 79, of New Alexandria, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, in Forbes Regional Hospital, in Monroeville. She was born Aug. 6, 1933, in New Alexandria, daughter of the late William B. Goodlin and Susan Ramaley. Myla worked in retail sales and hospitality. She retired from the Corner Restaurant in New Alexandria. She was a member of Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria where she as a Deacon. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was very active in the Day Lily Society. Myla was known for her touring gardens. She knew many people and was adored by her faithful husband, Bob, and her brother, Al. She volunteered at the St. Vincent Gristmill. She was a lifelong resident of New Alexandria and very active in the local affairs of the community. Along with her parents she was predeceased by brothers, William H. Goodlin, Chalmers H. Goodlin and Richard B. Goodlin. Myla is survived by her loving husband, Robert Shestik, of New Alexandria, who adored her; faithful brother E. Alton Goodlin, of New Alexandria; two daughters, Cindy Burnham and husband, Matt, of Marietta, Ga., and Susan E. Ludwig and Laura Olsen, of D.C.; grandchildren, Kaylee Burnham and Taylor Burnham; a sister-in-law, Aila Goodlin, in Florida; and a nephew, William B. Goodlin, in Colorado. "Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, in New Alexandria. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria, with the Rev. Kathleen Shirey. Everyone go directly to the church.
