Mike E. Phillips Sr.

Mike E. Phillips Sr., 93, of Greensburg (Unity Twp.), passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Hempfield Manor.  He was born January 26, 1931, in Hempfield Twp. to the late John Phillips, and Anna (Stancko) Phillips.  He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mike was self employed and worked in the heating and cooling industry.  He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree.  One of Mike’s favorite pastimes is was playing the lottery.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eve (Nalevanko) Phillips in 2019, five brothers and five sisters.  Mike is survived by three children, Carol and Bob Packey, of New Derry, Brenda and Gill Thomas, of Greensburg, and Michael and Gayleen Phillips, of New Derry; five grandchildren, Bob Packey, Dwaine Thomas, Betty Phillips, April Phillips and Chevale Phillips; a number of great-grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, PA 15670, 724-668-2248.  Parting prayers will be said in the funeral home Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., in St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Fr.
