Matilda Ann "Toots" (Eidemiller) Burkholder

Matilda Ann "Toots" Eidemiller Burkholder, 95 of New Alexandria, passed away in her residence on June 21, 2026.  She was born September 26, 1930, on her parents farm in New Alexandria, the daughter of J.P. Eidemiller II and Agnes (Schmucker) Eidemiller.  After many dedicated years, she retired from driving a school van.  Tootsis a member of St. James Church in New Alexandria.  She had the pleasure of spending quality time with 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She was privileged to make mission trips to do clean up work after Hurricane Katrina with the New Alexandria Presbyterian Church and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Greensburg.  Toots volunteered at the demolition derbies with the New Alexandria Lions Club and at the Westmoreland County Food Bank.  She spent many years buying, selling, renting and particularly renovating real estate.  Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Charles L. Burkholder Sr.; her son, Charles L. Burkholder Jr.; her brothers, Jerome Eidemiller, and J.P. Eidemiller III; her sisters, Olga Hornock, Rita Casper, Thelma Snyder and Marie Henry.   She is survived by her children, Cathy Levandosky (Frank), Robert (Karen), Kevin (Jo Ann) and Daniel Burkholder, all of New Alexandria and Clifford (Lorraine) Burkholder of Latrobe; and a sister, Minerva Phillips of Lakeland, FL.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at P. David Newhouse Funeral Home, 215 Church Street, New Alexandria, PA 15670.    A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 306 Saint James Lane, New Alexandria, PA 15670, with Rev. Tyler J.
