Mary Ellen Sarver

Mary Ellen (Marie) Sabo Sarver, 83, of New Alexandria, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, in her residence. She was born March 26, 1929, in South Greensburg, a daughter of the late Steve and Viola G. (Baum) Sabo. Mary did housekeeping in the Greensburg area. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, in New Alexandria, where she belonged to the Rosary and Altar Society. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Omer L. Sarver, in 1995; and siblings, Sara, Buddy, Dick and Judy. She is survived by her loving daughter, Karen J. Cramer, of New Alexandria; four grandchildren, Scott, Jason, Shannon and Martha; several great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Eash; a brother, Jack Sabo; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, in New Alexandria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church, New Alexandria, with Monsignor Lawrence T. Persico as celebrant.
