Mary H. Murphy

Mary H. Murphy New Alexandria Mary H. Murphy, 90, of New Alexandria, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, in St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Whitney, to Logan Jacob Harr and Mary Jane Poorman. Mary was a housewife and homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was an office assistant for her daughter, Diane Murphy, attorney at law. Mary also worked for many years at the Qwik Stop Mini Mart in the Keystone Plaza in New Alexandria. Mary loved to read and also enjoyed her favorite TV shows. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Murphy in 2005; her grandson, Ryan Marshall, in 2012; siblings; Floyd, Frank, Virginia, Kenneth, George, Logan, Walter, and an infant brother, Regis. She is survived by her children; Keith Murphy (Lynn), of Derry, Cynthia Marshall (Richard), of New Alexandria, Diane Murphy, of Greensburg, Richard Murphy, of New Alexandria; two grandsons, Kevin Marshall, of New Alexandria, and Adam Marshall, of New Hampshire; a sister, Eileen Zurick, of Venice, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, newhousefuneralhome.com. A funeral mass will be held will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, in St. James Catholic Church in New Alexandria, with Monsignor Larry J. Kulick, J.C.L., officiating. Entombment is in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
