Mary Deloris (Howell) Landers, 95, of New Alexandria, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Independence Health System - Westmoreland Hospital. She was born July 20, 1929, in Wilsonburg, WV, to the late Harry and Effie (Matthews) Howell. She attended and graduated from Victory High School, in Clarksburg WV . Mary worked as a seamstress for a few years then spent the remainder of her years as a homemaker. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church of New Alexandria where she was also a member of the women’s society at the church. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Red Hat Society, and she loved to shop and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House for Children of Kissamie, FL, and traveling with her husband on numerous adventures. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy M. Landers in 2014; a brother Walter Howell, and two sisters, Eva Kight and Helen Hall. She is survived by two sons, Roy Dale Landers and his wife Rev. Linda D., and Steven H. Landers and his wife Jan, all of New Alexandria; four grandchildren, Cassandra Lee Slezak and husband, Steven, of Blairsville, Aaron H. Landers, of New Alexandria, Emily Ann Landers-Sorensen and husband Conner of Yucca Valley, CA and Kelsey Lee Landers (Nick), of Los Angeles, CA; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Slezak as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, PA 15670, 724-668-2248. A funeral service will be held at United Methodist Church of New Alexandria, 106 Washington St, New Alexandria, PA 15670, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Sharon Waltenbaugh officiating.
