Martha R. Helman

Martha Helman Ligonier Martha Helman passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at the Bethlen Home in Ligonier. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters; her husband, Clifford; son, Gary; and grandson, Brian Garlow. She was the owner of several businesses during her lifetime and served as past president of both the Latrobe Civic Club and Century Club. She also belonged to the DAR and Latrobe Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Nora Podkul (Walt); sons, Clifford Helman (Patti), and Chalmer Helman (Denise); nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, with services immediately following. Interment is private.
