Marie S. Latimer, 82, of New Alexandria, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, in her home. Born Oct. 30, 1927, in Hostetter, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Augusta Kutchinsky Smoker. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, reading, gambling, crocheting and puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Latimer Sr., in 1990; three sisters, Helen McCracken, of Hostetter , Frances Moore , of Latrobe, and Katherine Smoker; as well as a brother, Steven Smoker, of Auburn , Ill. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon L. Butinsky, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Judy A. and Patty C. Latimer, of New Alexandria; five sons, James G. Jr., John D., Robert E., Kevin L. and Kenneth Dean Latimer, all of New Alexandria; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Neiderhiser, of Latrobe, Nancy Leino, of Cass City, Mich., and Florrence Harris, of Kimball, Mich.; four brothers, Ed Smoker, of Latrobe, Harry Smoker, of Derry, Frank and John Smoker, of Blairsville; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, in New Alexandria. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Monsignor Lawrence T. Persico officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery , New Alexandria.
