Louise R. Shanefelt

Louise R. "Bunch" Shanefelt, 77, of New Alexandria, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital . Born Feb. 11, 1934, in Latrobe, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Mary (Bisi) Pauza. Louise retired from Latrobe Area Hospital at the Blairsville Family Practice in 1995. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in New Alexandria, where she belonged to the Rosary Altar Society. After her retirement, she volunteered at Latrobe Area Hospital and The Palace Theatre in Greensburg . She loved working in her yard. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Louis Pauza. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, C. Dale Shanefelt, of New Alexandria; a daughter, Valorie Baum and friend, Gary Benson, of New Alexandria; a son, Dale Shanefelt and friend, Diane Rukovina, of Monroeville ; three grandchildren, Barrett Baum, Ashley Shoup and Gregg Shanefelt; and two great-grandchildren, Trent and Logan Shoup. There will be no visitation, as per Louise's request. The Rosary Altar Society will pray the rosary at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church, New Alexandria, by Monsignor Lawrence T. Persico and Monsignor Lawrence Kiniri. Inurnment will be in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield. The P.
