Linda Elaine Barbish, 67, of New Alexandria, went home to be with Jesus, while in the company of her loving family, Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, in Forbes Regional Hospital. Linda was born July 6, 1949, in Apollo, to the late John Edward "Ed" and Lyda Kathryn Stroup. She was previously employed by former Pa. state Sen. Eugene Porterfield as administrative assistant in his district office. Linda was a member of Cornerstone Ministries. She belonged to the Westmoreland County Historical Society, and had a love for crafting, gardening and reading a good book. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Paul George Barbish and Ruth Barbish. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul John Barbish; loving daughters, Alexis Barbish (fiance Robert Sommer), and Amanda Barbish; loving son, Paul "Butchie" Barbish (wife, Ali Mills Barbish); seven loving golden retrievers; loving sister, Marlene Lombardi (husband, Gene), loving brother, John Edward Stroup Jr. (wife, Theresa); loving nephew, Chris Lombardi (wife, Kris), loving niece, Tara Lombardi Rooney (husband Thomas J. Rooney), loving great-nephews, Tommy, Sean, and Seamus Rooney, and loving stepfather-in-law, Milan Yencho. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington Sts., New Alexandria, www.newhousefuneralhome.com. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at Cornerstone Ministries in Murrysville with Rev. Dr. Donn Chapman officiating.. Everyone go directly to the church. Interment will be at Brush Creek Cemetery in Manor.
