Joseph L. Phillips

Joseph L. Phillips, 75, of New Alexandria, Salem Township, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Dec. 16, 1940, in New Alexandria, Salem Township, son of the late Joseph C. Phillips and the late Marian C. Burge Phillips. Joe retired from Doughty Motors of Derry, where he was a diesel mechanic for more than 30 years. He also worked for Superior Well Services. He was a member of the New Alexandria United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the New Alexandria Firemans Club, the Salem Ukrainian Club and the Frontier Club of Latrobe. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and also enjoyed auto racing. Joseph loved camping during the summer at Lazy Acres Camp Ground. Joseph was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Audrey Palmer Phillips, of New Alexandria; daughter, Jodi; sons, Brian and his wife, Diana, and Randy and wife, Lisa; five amazing grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Jason, Joseph and Robert; brother, William and wife, Donna; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. www.newhousefuneralhome.com.
