John W. Wagner, founder and president of Allegheny Shredders in Delmont, was born May 15, 1928, in Navarre, Ohio, and passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at home in Derry. Along with his parents and his two brothers, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lou, in 2007. He is survived by his two sisters, Sister Mary Carmelita, of Chardon, Ohio, and Alice and husband, Bud Schmidt, of Navarre, Ohio; children, Kathleen Brooks, of Washington D.C., William J., of Littleton, Colo., Robert E., of Ashland, Ore., James J. and wife, Lisa A., of Harrison City, Thomas and wife, Kim, of Murrysville, and Bryan D. and husband, John Schmieder, of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and his dear friend, Ronna Hand. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington Streets, New Alexandria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria. Burial will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the reception hall of St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria after the burial.
