John Scaglione Jr. Obituary

John A. "Junior" Scaglione, Jr. 73, of New Alexandria, died peacefully surrounded by his family, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, in his home. He was born February 24, 1945, in Greensburg, a son of the late John Sr. and Rose Marie (Merenda) Scaglione. Prior to retirement John was the owner/operator of the Scaglione Amoco Station and Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the St. James Parish, New Alexandria. John enjoyed cars, golfing, bowling, and drag racing. Besides his parents John was preceded in death by one brother Richard Scaglione and one great grandson Gabriel. John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Donna J. (Reed) Scaglione, of New Alexandria; two daughters Rose M. Ronian and husband Bradley of Avonmore and Kathy Boring and husband Daniel of Derry; two sons John Scaglione III and wife Stephanie of Penn Hills and Joseph Scaglione and wife Kristen of Jefferson Hills; one sister Linda Miller and husband Pete of New Alexandria; 10 grandchildren Daniel Jr., Timothy and wife Alexis, Kylie, Gaven, Carly, Owen, Dustin, John IV, Gianna, and Ashton; one aunt Jennie Mazzoni of New Alexandria; one Uncle Joseph Merenda of AZ and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2018, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. newhousefuneralhome.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the St. James Parish, New Alexandria, with the Monsignor Larry J. Kulick, J.C.L. as officiant Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Unity Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution can be made to the American Heart Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Heartland Hospice. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Heartland Hospice nurses and aides for helping their father through this difficult time.
