John J. Plentovich Jr.

John J. Plentovich Jr., 65, of Monroeville, formerly of New Alexandria, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born July 25, 1951, in Shaler Township, to Mr. and Mrs. John J. Plentovich Sr. He was employed by F&L Vending of Pittsburgh. He formerly worked at Vanguard Savings and Loan of Vandergrift, where he was the assistant vice president. John was a life member of the New Alexandria Fire Department. He was a line officer with the rank of captain. He was also a former trustee and manager of the Fireman Club. John was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister. He is survived by a longtime friend, Thomas R. Powell, of Salem, Va. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon Friday, Feb. 24, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, newhousefuneralhome.com. A service will follow immediately afterward, with William D'Angelo officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department.
