John J. Nalevanko, 96, of Crabtree, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Westmoreland Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born January 31, 1927, in Crabtree, to the late George and Anna (Yurtus) Nalevanko. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. John was a retired road worker/heavy machinery driver for Unity Township and an active member of St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lena (D’Angelo) Nalevanko; and a grandson, Matthew Nalevanko. John is survived by two sons, Johnny Nalevanko and his wife Lola and James Nalevanko and his wife Jennifer; a daughter, Linda Green and her husband Gary; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Gibson, and her husband Aaron, James Nalevanko, and his wife Felicia, and Joey Nalevanko and his wife Rachael; and four great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Brandon, Ember and Aspen. John was a loving husband,father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He loved his family and the great outdoors. As per his wishes there will be no public visitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July, 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Hill Cemetery, in the Chapel, with Fr. Justin Matro O.S.B. as celebrant.
