James Lee Ruble

James Lee Ruble, 65, of Saltsburg, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011. Born Nov. 20, 1945, in Greensburg, he was a son of the late Clyde and Helen Ruth (Nesbit) Ruble. Jim retired from Pipefitters Local Union 354, Pittsburgh. He was a member of The United Methodist Church of New Alexandria. Jim also belonged to American Legion Post 57 of Saltsburg, Philanthropy Lodge 225 F&AM of Greensburg, New Alexandria Firemen's Club and the Salem Ukrainian Club. He was a member of the Saltsburg VFD for 12 years, where he served as divemaster. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group, national. He also belonged to LOOM Lodge 1151 of Greensburg, where he served on the ritual team. He was a member of the American Legion Riders. He was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in The Old Guard, 3rd Infantry, at Fort Myer, Va., and attained the rank of specialist 4. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Ebony. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Ann Lorusso, of Saltsburg; two children, Dawn Pynos and husband, Donald Jr., of Latrobe, and Joseph Scott Ruble and wife, Jamie Stone, of Alaska; four stepchildren, Jason Flenniken and wife, Dawn, of Latrobe, Jennifer Flenniken Vaughn and husband, Matthew, of Pittsburgh, Joshua Flenniken and wife, Amber, of New Alexandria, and Marc Short, of Saltsburg; eight grandchildren; a brother, Barry Ruble and wife, Donna, of Greensburg; and a niece and nephew. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in The United Methodist Church of New Alexandria with Pastor Rhea Summit officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery, New Alexandria, with honors accorded by Saltsburg American Legion. Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
