James Lee Pratt, 68, of New Alexandria, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital . Born April 3, 1943, in White Valley , he was a son of the late John and Gladys Wallace Pratt. Jim retired from Laborers Local 1058 of Pittsburgh , where he worked as a foreman for Burrell and Norwin Construction. He was a member of the Salem Ukrainian Club and the New Alexandria Firemen's Club. He also belonged to the National Rifle Association. He loved going hunting and fishing with his son and friends. Jim was an avid NASCAR fan. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy; and two brothers, Paul and Richard. He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Pratt, of New Alexandria; a son, James Pratt and fiancee, Jamie, of Latrobe; a daughter, Tracy Myers and husband, Bob, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Corby, Tommy and Brandon; a brother, William, of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Chuck, Donald, Debra, Donna and Dennis; and many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St. , New Alexandria. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church of New Alexandria with the Rev. Randy Rugh officiating. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
