James E. Fedornak, 69, Salemville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at his residence. He was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Salemville, a son of the late Charles Fedornak and Mary Pavlick Fedornak. Jim retired from Kozik Brothers, where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church of Youngstown. Jim was a veteran of the Army having served at the rank of SP-4 during the Vietnam Conflict. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Michael, Mary, John, Nicholas, Helen, Anna, Martha and Stephen; and his granddaughter, Angel. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen P. Goodman Fedornak, of Salemville; a son, James A. and his wife, Kathy, Fedornak, of Bovard; and a daughter, Patty Fedornak Slivinsky, of Salemville; grandchildren, Anna, Gina and Nathan; siblings, Peter, George, Margaret, Paul, Charles, Andrew, Catherine, Stella and Dorothy; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, at the corner of Church and Washington Streets, New Alexandria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church of Youngstown with Pastor von Schlichten.
