George Stromock, 77, of New Alexandria, died Monday, May 31, 2010, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital . He was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Salemville, a son of the late John Stromock Jr. and Anna Bogdan Stromock. George was retired from McNaughton Milling in New Alexandria. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Ukranian Catholic Church of New Alexandria. He was his own homemaker. He enjoyed the great outdoors but was hampered with ill health. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise and Rose Stromock and Julia Ulishney; three brothers, John Jr., Anthony and Joseph Stromock; three brothers-in-law, John Lishego Sr., Stephen B. Ulishney and John C. Dorko; a sister-in-law, Helen Bennish; a niece, Diana Reck Spallone; and a nephew, John Lishego Jr. George is survived by three sisters, Mary Lishego, of Hunker, Katherine Dorko, of Carbon, and Helen Stromock, of Youngwood; a brother, Harry Stromock and his wife, Laura, of Murrysville; a sister-in-law, Barbara Stromock, of Derry; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his very special friends, Helen and Edward Rohrer, whom always made sure that George had groceries and was taken for his medical appointments. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, New Alexandria, with Father Xavier Elambassery as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery , Unity Township . The parastas service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday and the Panchida service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
