George L. Dickerson New Alexandria George Lee Dickerson, 65, of New Alexandria, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, in his home in New Alexandria. He was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Greensboro, N.C., son of Robert Dickerson and Margaret Musgrove Dickerson. George was employed by the Foreman Managers Group as a site manager, just completing the new Latrobe Elementary School. George was a member of St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria. He was an avid golfer, rarely missing a chance to play. He also enjoyed spoiling his granddaughter..George was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Joan McNaughton Dickerson, of New Alexandria; children, Lindsay Haluck and granddaughter, Harper Rae, and Michael Dickerson, all of New Alexandria; brother-in-law, David McNaughton and wife, Georgette, of New Alexandria; siblings, Robert (Carolyn) Dickerson, Dugan (Rebecca) Dickerson, Debbie (Dickerson) and Michael Woodson, Kathy Swiger, Cecelia Dickerson, James (Lisa) Dickerson, Michael (Lynn) Dickerson and Jane Dickerson all from North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria. newhousefuneralhome.com.
