Gary R. Helman

Gary R. Helman, 72, of Derry, died on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born December 9, 1942 in Latrobe PA, the son of Martha (Ramaley) Helman of Latrobe and the late Clifford H. Helman. Gary had worked at Teledyne Vasco. He was a US Army Disabled Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Besides his loving mother Gary is survived by his three children Greg A. Helman and wife Nancy Cipriani of Mt. Lebanon, Karen Siko and husband Steven of Derry Twp., and Ryan L. Helman and wife Jennifer of Latrobe; one sister Nora Podkul and husband Walt; two brothers Clifford E. Helman and wife Patti of Latrobe and Chalmers Helman and wife Denise of Latrobe; three grandchildren Devin, Kaylen, and Austin and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday February 17, 2015 at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets in New Alexandria, www.newhousefuneralhome.com. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday February 18, 2015 at 11AM with the Rev. Kathy Shirey officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, New Alexandria.
