Eugene Brant Obituary

Eugene E. Brant, 78, of New Alexandria, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Walnut Ridge Memory Care, Greensburg. He was born April 20, 1937, in Johnstown, a son of the late Theodore T. Brant and Laverne Slagle Brant. He was a retired tool and die supervisor, having worked for Gibson Electric of Delmont and Breeze Clamp of Saltsburg. He was a member of Congruity Presbyterian Church, Salem Township, where he had served as an elder. He was a past president of Bellco Credit Union and a member of the Police Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing and was also a Little League and Pony League coach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy D. (Duffield) Brant; three children, Sandra Henry and her husband, James, David Brant and his wife, Maureen, and Robert Brant and his wife, Tristan; three grandchildren, Margo Long and her husband, Nathan, Jared Henry and Gavin Brant; two great-grandchildren, Liam Long and Mason Long; three siblings, Jane Gardner, Ted Brant and his wife, Virginia, and Judy Weyant and her husband, Clyde; as well as several nieces and nephews Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria, PA 15670. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Congruity Presbyterian Church, 136 Fenneltown Road, New Alexandria, PA 15670 with the Rev. Clifton Foster officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to church. Burial in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Ridge Memory Care for the kindness shown toward Eugene and his family. Also, a special thank you to Excela Health Home Hospice, particularly Anne and Karen, for the wonderful care and service they provided.
