Eleanor Emge Obituary

Eleanor Jeane Emge, 95, passed away on June 18, 2022.  Born July 4, 1926, she was one of 13 children born to the late Lester and Idesta (Ross) Stoneking. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Emge, grandsons, Thomas James Emge and Joshua I. Dias.  Also preceding her were brothers Bill, Bob, Dave, Tom, Allen, Donny, Terry, Sisters Betty, Anne, Carol,  Linda and brother and sister-in-law James and Helen Emge.  She and Bill Married in 1950, and later in life they built their dream home, a log cabin in Saltsburg, PA.  She was a voracious reader, loved nature, travel, gardening, and genealogy.  She was the founding member of the Herb Society of Saltsburg, spending the afternoon in the herb gardens for her 95th birthday.  She was retired from Torrance State Hospital.  The Stoneking reunion was the highlight of her year, so many wonderful stories and memories.  She and Bill were avid fans of Jeopardy, and Jeane was known to drive home at racing speed in order not to miss it.  Survivors include her children, M. Jeanine Villanueva, Kathleen McDonald (Gene) and James Emge, grandchildren Ian and Aaron Villanueva, Annie Johnson (Kevin), and Sara Varnell; great grandchildren Maka, Iana, Maverick, Lettie and Willow.  Also surviving is her brother Danny, dear friend, Celia Munici (partner of Dave), brother-in-law Mike Cumberledge, sister-in-law Eileen Stoneking, and many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Mt. View Senior Living, and Redstone Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.  Arrangements are private.   P.
