Eleanor S. Elliott, 88, of New Alexandria, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at her residence in New Alexandria. She was born July 27, 1923, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late Marcus Edward Seanor and the late Jessie Hunter Seanor. Eleanor was a housewife and homemaker. During World War II, she worked at General Rubber in Jeannette. She was a member of Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, William E. Gelston Lodge No. 435 in Greensburg, where she was a past worthy matron. Eleanor also belonged to the Latrobe Elks, where she enjoyed playing golf for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Chester Elliott, in 1991; and a brother, Marcus Seanor Jr. in 2007. She is survived by her children, James C. Elliott Jr. and wife, Linda, and William S. Elliott and wife, Diane, both of Latrobe, Edward S. Elliott and wife, Darlene, of Greensburg, and Robert K. Elliott, of New Alexandria; grandchildren, Ron, Jim III, Marty, William Jr., David, Edward Jr. and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Samantha, Jacob, Abby, Zack and Max; a sister-in-law, Jean Seanor, of Boulder, Colo.; along with many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 7 until 9PM and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, at the corner of Church and Washington Streets, New Alexandria, where The Order of the Eastern Star will have a memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the P. David Newhouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford E. Buell officiating.
