Edward Richard Hornock, 91, of New Alexandria, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at home. He was born Feb. 9, 1932, in New Alexandria, to the late Andrew andMary (Repko) Hornock. He served his country as a member of the Army and was stationed in Alaska and served during the Korean conflict. Prior to retirement, Ed worked for Westinghouse as a laborer with 38 years of service. He was a member of St. James Church, New Alexandria. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, James, Phillip and Andrew Hornock; and sister, Betty Hornock Vargo. Ed is survived by his wife of 64 years, Susan D. (Smith) Hornock, of New Alexandria; a daughter, Elaine (Hornock) Novak, of Longmont, Colo.; and a son, David Hornock and wife, Margaret Hornock, of Sykesville, Md.; three granddaughters, Elise Novak, of Seattle, Wash., Colette (Novak) Garrett, of Atlanta, Ga., and Rachel Hornock, of Greensburg; and two sisters, Margaret Forish and Cecilia Yurack, both of New Alexandria. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. James Church with interment following at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Crabtree. P.
