Edward M. Halula, 86, of New Alexandria, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Latrobe, a son of the late Michael Halula and Mary Bernas. Ed retired from Kennametal, where he was employed as a laborer. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in New Alexandria. Ed was also a former member of the New Alexandria Vol. Fire Department No. 77. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Frederick Funsten APA89. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Aidan O'Rourke; and his sister, Henrietta Horansky. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth Halula, of New Alexandria; three children, Edward K. Halula, of Oregon, Dennis M. Halula and his wife, Linda, of New Alexandria, and Judith K. Haula-Cramer and her husband, Ronald, of New Alexandria; grandchildren, Jason Cramer and Kerrie O'Rourke; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Zander and Kade; and his sister, Dolores Kozielec and her husband, John, of Bradenville. There will be no visitation. At the request of the family, services and visitation are private and officiated by the Rev. Monsignor Lawrence T. Persico. Interment will follow with full military honors will follow accorded by VFW Post No. 33 of Greensburg in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. The P.
