Dolores L. Hunter

Dolores L. Hunter Chandler, Ariz. Dolores L. Hunter, 86, of Chandler, Ariz., died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, in Mercy Gilbert Hospital, Gilbert, Ariz. Born Jan. 2, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Otto Meyers and Ida May (Goode) Meyers. Dolores assisted in running successful funeral homes and retired in 1990. She was an avid golfer, an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an 11-year breast cancer survivor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Johannes; and stepson, Reed Hunter. She is survived by husband, Joseph Hunter; children, Robert Swarner (Anita), of Pittsburgh, Bruce Swarner (Denise), of Chandler, and Rose Nicholson (Gary), of Blairsville; stepson, Jim Hunter, of Washington, D.C.; granddaughters, Stephanie Losh (Don), Stacie Swarner; step-grandson, Cory Martin (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Taelyn and Donovan Losh; siblings, Charlie Meyers (Pat), Shirley Ziegler (Buck), Don Meyers (Dolly), Dave Meyers (Toots) and Lil Shumaker (Richard); and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, Ariz. Local arrangements in care of the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 215 Church St., New Alexandria.
