Dennis R. Russian, 67, of Crabtree, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at UPMC Presbyterian-Montefiore, Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Latrobe, to the late Henry and Anne Kanala Russian. Dennis retired from Westinghouse in Trafford where he was a draftsman and painter. He was a member of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church of Crabtree. He was a member of Hannastown and Crabtree Firemans Club. He was a former firefighter in Crabtree. He was a member of the American Legion Post 515 of Latrobe and Whitney Firemans Club. He was a veteran, having served in the Army in Vietnam with the Special Forces. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-brother, James Bayura. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Diane L. Massimo, of Crabtree; two sons, Denny Dominick Jr. and Robert Boettinger; two aunts, Rose Levandosky and Charlotte Kanala; mother-in-law, Mary Massimo; and God-child, Brian Butz. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington Streets, New Alexandria. P.
