Dennis Hazlett Obituary

Dennis J. Hazlett, 67, of New Alexandria, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born April 21, 1947, in McCullough, son of the late William Hazlett and the late Betty Goras Hazlett. Dennis was a former employee of Weeds and Seeds Landscaping. He was a member of Congruity United Presbyterian Church of Salem Township. He was a former firefighter of the New Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department Station No. 77. He coached the New Alexandria Non-Profit Baseball Association. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda Beal Hazlett, of New Alexandria. There are three children, Denise Eidemiller and husband, Erik, and Carolyn Anderson and husband, Dan, both of New Alexandria; a son, David Hazlett and wife, Leann, of Fairfield; grandchildren, Emily, Brianna, Noah, Owen, Joshua and Aleah; siblings, William Hazlett and wife, Betty, Robert Hazlett and Betty Severini and husband, Bob; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Mollie. Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington Sts., New Alexandria, in charge of arrangements. www.newhousefuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, in the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. H. Clifton Foster, Pastor of the Congruity United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, New Alexandria.
