Clyde Francis McConnell passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born December 14,1933, in Butler, to the late Russell and Clara (Rhoa) McConnell. Brother to Leo, Dorothy, Ralph, Ken, Betty, Freda, Herman, Jean and Peggy. Brother-in-law to many. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Husband of Eileen “Sis” (Boggetta) McConnell for over 60 years. Father of Greta (Jody), Lisa (Chet), Cindy and Jamie. Pap to Kayla, Garrett and Joshua (Anna). Great-Grandpap to Maddix, William, Brielle and Franklin. Clyde was known for his witty personality and the ability to carry on a conversation with anyone he met. He loved telling stories of his strip-mining days where he “blew up” the earth. He loved to sing and taught his children many of his favorite songs. He made fresh from scratch pizza in his younger years and often shared with the neighborhood kids who loved it. His main passion was his love for his family, and they knew he was always in their corner. Clyde’s family would like to thank the staff at Westmoreland Manor and Bridges Hospice for the great care they provided him. Viewing will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria, PA 15670, from 10:00-10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. For those who cannot attend in person, a live stream of the funeral Mass will be available at the church website, www.stjamesnewalexandria.org.
