Charles Ellenberger, 82, of New Alexandria, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Latrobe Hospital. Born Dec. 23, 1934, in Benezette, Pa., he was the son of Charles and Josephine (Gunsallus) Ellenberger. Prior to retirement, he worked as a shift leader for Dominion Gas Co. in Delmont. He was a member of New Alexandria United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Nellie Bloom and Mary Jane Noble, and a niece, Betty Jane Bloom. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores (Dudley); a son, Steve and wife Karen, of Blairsville; a daughter, Barbara Heiple and husband Harry, of New Alexandria; brother-in-law, Don Dudley and wife Katherine, of Weedville; sister-in-law, Carol Smith, of Benezette; three nieces and three nephews; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria, were a short service will be conducted by Pastor Rhea Summit after the 8 p.m. viewing. Friends and family will also be received from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at the Benezette Methodist Church, Benezette, where a short service will be conducted by the Rev.
